Join us at the Staged Reading of the Winner of the Appalachian Playwriting Festival directly after the Harvesting Heritage Festival!

The Appalachian Playwriting Festival will be held from September 12-14, 2025 at Parkway Playhouse. This festival will feature staged readings of new plays written by Appalachian Playwrights or plays that celebrate Appalachian Culture. One script from this festival will be chosen to be produced in our 2025 Mainstage Season! To learn more about the Appalachian Playwriting Festival, follow this link.

The Winner of the Appalachian Playwriting Festival will perform a staged reading of the script on the historic cabin here at the Center for Pioneer Life.
