A Day as a Pioneer

“A Day as a Pioneer” is a full-day school program that allows students to learn about regional history and experience life as an Appalachian pioneer.

Program Overview

The program is built around 4 rotating stations that each teach a different aspect of pioneer living using hands-on activities.

Groups led by an expert guide will rotate through these stations, taking approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour for each. Teachers will be provided with standards-aligned educational materials to be used prior to, during, and after the visit that include vocabulary cards, worksheets, maps, and more.

Our Pioneer Day program is for students in 2nd through 8th grade. We can accomodate up to ___ students per day.
