About the event
The traditional craft of pine needle basketry has deep roots in the Southeast, where the needles from the long-leaf pine tree provide an ideal natural material for coiling into vessels of various shapes and designs.
In this workshop participants will learn about the rich history of this unique form of basketry and be introduced to a variety of stitches and techniques to create baskets of their own.
All materials needed to get started will be provided, but it is recommended that students bring their own pair of scissors. Also, please note that students should expect to finish their basket on their own, implementing the basics introduced in class.
